KAGC’s School of English is founded on premises of confidence and responsibility whereby students make decisions and plans to pursue their career and advance their life-long goals. The students are concurrently assessed based on International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS). The school has incorporated and designed an innovative Intensive English Preparation (IEP/IELTS) programme that measure the students competency in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking skills. The IEP/IELTS programme is offered in separate levels of entry, determined by the English Placement Test, with progression towards the ADVANCE – IELTS Preparation for Examination. The test is held at a British Council approved testing centre. The programme is also infused with essential skills in confidence, responsibility and power at the respective level equipping candidates the strengths to excel in job interviews, career advancement and entrepreneurship.

The Beginner level created for those students, who have very limited knowledge of the language. The first step for learning is to focus on the four skills through basic preliminary vocabulary and pronunciation. Embedded in the teaching and learning is constant, practice in speaking and listening through drills and interactive activities through ‘Everyday English’ and ‘Spoken Grammar’ modules.
By completing this level, students will be able to:
The Elementary level incorporates the Elementary to Pre?Intermediate stage in language learning. Students will develop their knowledge of four language skills with emphasis on grammar and practice, vocabulary development and integrated skills with communication. Students will learn about language use in context, thru comprehension and vocabulary exercises with extensive writing practices in their workbooks and assigned worksheets.
By completing this level, students will be able to:
The Intermediate level is for students to gain more understanding of the four language skills. They will acquire more insights of the language through role plays, exchanging information, storytelling, expressing opinions, comments in discursive essays and descriptive writing. Our teaching materials, such as ‘Music of English and Spoken English’, will assist students to learn and practice the uses of tone, stress and informal phrase to express the right meanings in conversations.

The Upper Intermediate is the steps towards Advance English which is a review of all the four language structures that students have learned. More advanced grammars, lexical vocabularies and integrated skill developments such as intensive writing on formal letters, emails, job applications, narrative and report writing are implemented. It also continues to develop the students’ creative writing skills and engages students with two new subjects including introduction to Drama and Literature.
