Nowadays, practically everyone is a computer user which creates the demand for computer programmers. To get computers to do what you want them to do requires certain knowledge and skills. Computer science is a programme that can equip you with the understanding and skills required to operate a computer.
This programme is a study of computers that requires thinking in both intellectual and physical terms. It can be seen on a higher level, as a science of problem solving. The field of computer science spans several core areas such as programming, computer theory, scientific computing, hardware and software.
|STPM||Minimum 2 Principal Passes (including Mathematics and Science/ICT)|
|Diploma/HND||Minimum CGPA of 2.50 in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology or Information Systems or Science & Technology or equivalent. Applicants with CGPA above 2.00 may apply for admission pending internal assessment.|
|A-Level||Minimum 2 Principal Passes (C) (including Mathematics and Science/ICT)|
|UEC||Minimum 5Bs (including Mathematics)|
|Foundation / Matriculation||Minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a C in Additional Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent, OR
Minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a C in Mathematics and Science/Technology/Engineering subject at SPM level or equivalent. Candidates are required to take a Mathematics subject as part of the degree programme study.
|SAM/HSC/AUSMAT||TER/UAI: average 60% or higher in 5 subjects (including Mathematics)|
|CPU/CIMP||Average of 60% or higher in 6 subjects (including Mathematics)|
|IB||26 points or higher based on 6 subjects|
* Mathematics requirements can be exempted if the Matriculation Program or Foundation Studies offered a Mathematics subject which is equivalent/greater than the Additional Mathematics at SPM level.
* As recognised by the Senate of IUKL as equivalent to STPM
