Biomedical Science, an exciting and dynamic area that is highly relevant to the understanding and treatment of human diseases, combines the fields of biology and medicine. It focuses on the structure and function of the human body from the level of organs and tissues to the molecular level. The biomedical scientists always find new ways to cure or treat disease by developing advanced diagnostic tools or new therapeutic strategies.
UTAR's Bachelor of Science (Honours) Biomedical Science offered by the Faculty of Science is an interdisciplinary programme with a combination of biology and pre-clinical sciences. The programme aims to equip graduates with a strong basic knowledge in the field of health sciences.
It also develops professionalism and provides opportunities to the students to put theory into practice in their development of healthcare. The programme generates graduates to work in the area of medicine and health related industries including management, basic medical research, education, forensics, and pharmaceuticals development.
