MAHSA University’s Advanced Diploma in Paediatric Nursing is a 1 year post-basic nursing programme designed for students who have completed a Diploma in Nursing with some relevant work experience and who have a specific interest in the nursing of infants and children.
This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to attend to the nursing needs of infants and children in particular, and of their parents and families as a whole.
Students will also learn how to show care and concern for their patients, and to demonstrate the correct attitude towards them. They will explore such subjects as physiology, pathophysiology, nutritional requirements in infants and children, practical application of theoretical knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the impact of illness and hospitalization on children, communication skills and much more.
At the end of the programme, students will have acquired the ability to deliver primary nursing care, rehabilitative and palliative care, and need-specific health care to children of all ages. They will be ready for employment in specialist paediatric hospitals and medical centres anywhere.

Possess Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution;
AND
Minimum 2 years clinical working experience;
AND
Possess 3 months experience in Paediatrics field;
AND
Registered with Nursing Board Malaysia (NBM) (Local Candidates)/ Nursing Council from country of origin (International Candidates);
AND
Possess Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) (Local Candidates)/Temporary Practicing Certificate (TPC) from NBM before clinical placement (International Candidates);
AND
English Proficiency (International Candidates): IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL 515/215/80;
AND
Able to converse in Bahasa Melayu (International Candidates)
Health requirements:
All candidates must be certified medically fit by a registered medical practitioner within one month from commencement of the nursing programme
Students must not have any physical disabilities or impaired senses that hinders nursing dexterity
Students with medical conditions such as HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, epilepsy, mental health disorders and color blindness cannot be admitted into the programme.
Pregnancy is not allowed throughout the course
Specialized State Registered Paediatric Nurse recognized by the Nursing Board Malaysia and Ministry of Health Malaysia
Paediatric Nurse Manager supervising a team of nurses
Clinical Instructor in a higher education institution
Self-employed and independent childcare specialist providing healthcare to children
