A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in Malaysia is a comprehensive, professionally oriented programme that prepares students to become qualified civil engineers capable of planning, designing, analysing, and managing infrastructure projects. This four-year degree focuses on developing strong theoretical knowledge alongside practical skills required for the construction, transportation, environmental, geotechnical, structural, and water-related sectors. Students are trained in designing buildings, bridges, highways, dams, drainage systems, sewage treatment plants, and other large-scale infrastructure that support modern societies.

Throughout the programme, students study core subjects including Structural Analysis, Engineering Mathematics, Hydraulics, Soil Mechanics, Steel & Concrete Design, Highway Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Project Management, and Engineering Software Applications such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, MATLAB, and basic BIM systems. Hands-on lab sessions, design assignments, workshops, and site visits are integrated into the curriculum to ensure a strong understanding of real engineering applications.

Malaysian universities follow the accreditation standards of the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC), which aligns with the Washington Accord. This means graduates can pursue engineering careers and professional recognition not only in Malaysia but also in many countries worldwide. Industrial training of at least 10–24 weeks is compulsory, enabling students to gain real engineering workplace exposure before graduation. Overall, the undergraduate degree equips students with the technical competency and professional readiness required to become successful civil engineers.

• UEC: Minimum 5Bs including Mathematics and Physics

• A-Level: Minimum 2 passes including Maths/Physics
• Foundation in Science/Engineering: Minimum CGPA 2.00 – 2.50
• IB Diploma: 24 points and above
