  • Our academic staffs are actively involved in research development activities. The university and the faculty are making every effort to encourage staff to involve in research. Majority of our research activities are supported through external grants such as the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS, Experimental Research Grant Scheme (ERGS), Prototype Research Grant Scheme (PRGS) and Research Acculturation Grant Scheme(RAGS) by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). Moreover, our academic staff also did received grants from Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) under ScienceFund and TechnoFund scheme.
  • In line with the objective 'acculturate research activities', the mentoring system has been established started from academic session 2011/2012 to encourage knowledge-sharing and discussion between expert/senior and young academic staff. The department has appointed 3 mentors from different disciplines to lead three clusters. The clusters are Structure, Material and Construction, Geotechnics and Highway, and Water Management, Hydraulics and Environment. Here is the list of research activities:

  • The major changes on PEOs is done as regards to Industrial Advisory Panel (IAP) comments during the last OBE Workshops in August 2012, and as a result, the new PEOs has been created and introduced after several discussions and meetings in faculty and department level.
