Course Overview

This programme is designed to prepare graduates with a strong foundation in maritime business administration and economics, equipping them with the knowledge and practical insight required to navigate the commercial side of the maritime industry. Students gain exposure to entrepreneurship, market dynamics, and industry-specific business practices, while developing analytical tools that strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovative decision-making skills. The curriculum integrates business theory with maritime applications, enabling learners to understand complex operational and economic challenges within the global shipping and logistics environment. In addition to technical and analytical competence, the programme focuses on developing capable maritime business professionals who can think creatively and adapt to changing industry demands. Emphasis is placed on leadership, management, and strategic thinking, preparing graduates to take on responsible roles in business development, operations, and organisational leadership. This holistic approach ensures graduates are well prepared to succeed in management, entrepreneurial ventures, and leadership positions within the maritime business sector.

Entry Requirements

For international students, it is compulsory to meet the minimum English language proficiency requirement by obtaining the required score in at least one recognised assessment. Accepted qualifications include MUET with a minimum Band 3, IELTS or IELTS Online with a score of 5.0, TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 40, or TOEFL Essential (Online) with a score of 7.5. Applicants may also submit the Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic or PTE Academic Online) with a minimum score of 47. Cambridge English qualifications, including B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency, or Linguaskill Online, are accepted with a minimum score of 154. Alternatively, completion of a Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP Level) with a minimum score of 107 is also recognised. Meeting any one of these requirements satisfies the English proficiency requirement for admission.
