Overview
The manufacturing industry is an important sector in driving structural transformation into high value-added activities in Malaysia. The high value-added activities are to improve the value of products or services to customers. For example, high value-added activities include designing products, distributing and transporting products, processing customer orders and improving product quality. In doing so, companies need skilled managers or technologists, with a blend of engineering knowledge and management skills, to understand the whole operations management cycle and integrate people, materials, system and energy in a more productive and sustainable way.
