Course Overview

Interior Design is an in-depth course that covers the fundamentals of interior design and decoration. An interior design consultant must have the skill and ability to select the appropriate colour and style designs to create interior schemes that are visually attractive and coherent. Students will be exposed to the knowledge and skills required in planning interior layouts, designing soft-furnishings and lighting schemes, colours, materials, media, shape, form, and learn how to communicate their ideas professionally to both clients and contractors. They will also be taught how to exploit spaces inside a building such as residential, offices, shops, salons, and others. Project work and assignment, supported by lecturers, independent study, site visit and special events are all activities that the students will be able to experience throughout the course. Students will use these and other tools to design a specific space while considering the requirements of the project.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold a recognised qualification such as SPM/SPMV, O-Level, UEC, STPM, STAM, a relevant Certificate (MQF Level 3), SKM Level 3, or APEL (A–T4) with the required credits or CGPA. International applicants must meet English proficiency requirements of MUET Band 3 or an equivalent CEFR Mid B1 qualification, or complete Geomatika’s English Programme if required.
