Course Overview

Diploma in Information Technology was first offered in the July 1992/1993 session, before Kolej Sultan Zainal Abidin (KUSZA) was upgraded to a university. The program has been accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA/FA9642) since 23rd October 2017, ensuring high standards of quality and recognition. This full-time program spans two years and covers six semesters, including three regular semesters, two short semesters, and six months of industrial training. The curriculum equips students with essential IT knowledge and practical skills required for the modern technology-driven workplace. Teaching and learning are conducted through lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, presentations, projects, and hands-on industrial training, allowing students to apply theoretical concepts in real-world contexts. Graduates of the Diploma in Information Technology are prepared for careers in various IT sectors, including software development, network administration, and IT support. The program emphasizes both technical proficiency and professional skills, ensuring students are industry-ready and capable of contributing effectively to the evolving digital landscape.

Entry Requirements

SPM Category (Malaysian Applicants) A pass with a minimum of five (5) credits in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), including Bahasa Melayu, and a pass in the History subject for SPM 2020. A minimum of Grade C in one (1) mathematics-related subject at the SPM level, either Mathematics or Additional Mathematics. A minimum of Grade C in one (1) Islamic Studies or Arabic-related subject at the SPM level, including Pendidikan Islam, Pendidikan Syariah Islamiah, Pendidikan Al-Quran dan Al-Sunnah, Tasawwur Islam, Bahasa Arab, Usul Al-Din, Al-Syariah, Manahij Al-Ulum Al-Islamiah, Al-Adab wa Al-Balaghah, Hifz Al-Quran, Maharat Al-Quran, or Al-Lughah Al-Arabiah Al-Mu’asirah. A minimum of Grade C in two (2) other subjects, excluding Bahasa Melayu, at the SPM level. A pass in English Language with a minimum of Grade D at the SPM level.
