Course Overview

Diploma in Physiotherapy was approved by the Ministry of Higher Education on 3 February 2009, with the first cohort of students enrolled in June 2011. The programme obtained full accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA/FA 4145) beginning 26 August 2013 and is registered under the National Education Code 726. Offered as a full-time programme, the Diploma in Physiotherapy has a study duration of three years and is structured across six semesters with a total of 105 credit hours. Since 2018, the programme has been delivered through the 2U2i (2U1i) mode, where the first two years of study are conducted on campus, followed by final-year clinical training at hospitals. Teaching and learning activities include lectures (online and face-to-face), laboratory-based practical sessions, tutorials, and clinical placements in various healthcare institutions. The programme aims to produce competent and well-rounded physiotherapy graduates who are responsive to current developments and challenges in the healthcare industry, in line with the university’s vision and mission.

Entry Requirements

A pass in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or an equivalent qualification, with honours in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia. A minimum of Grade C in the following subjects at the SPM level: Biology, Physics, Mathematics, and English. Applicants must be physically fit, with no conditions such as stammering, colour blindness, deafness, muteness, or visual impairment that may affect programme requirements.
