Course Overview

Bachelor of Education (Tamil) with Honours programme offered by the Faculty of Language and Communication (FBK), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) is designed to produce graduates who are proficient in Tamil language, literature, and culture, while possessing strong pedagogical skills suitable for education and a multicultural society. The programme integrates Tamil linguistics, classical and modern literature, creative writing, intercultural communication, language teaching methodologies, and the use of educational technology, supported by teaching practice and research activities that provide valuable real-world experience. In addition to preparing graduates for careers as professional educators within the national education system, the programme also opens diverse career opportunities in fields that value multilingual competence and cultural understanding, including publishing, broadcasting, diplomacy, public relations, and creative industries requiring bilingual communication skills.

Entry Requirements

A minimum CGPA of 2.75 in STPM / A-Levels / 12th Class, and an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) / IELTS Online score of 5.5.
