Clinical psychologists apply their expertise in psychology and mental health to assess, diagnose, formulate, treat, and prevent psychological disorders and mental illness across all stages of life. The Master of Clinical Psychology prepares you for professional practice as a clinical psychologist, with coursework designed to deepen your understanding and capabilities in mental health care. You’ll develop the skills to work effectively with diverse clients, managing complex psychological conditions with approaches that are both evidence-based and culturally responsive. The program includes four supervised clinical placements, providing hands-on experience under the guidance of qualified professionals. In addition, you’ll undertake a clinical research project, supervised by experienced academics, with the potential to make a meaningful contribution to the wider community.

Entry Requirements

To apply for the Master of Clinical Psychology, you must have completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) (or equivalent) accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC), or a qualification assessed as equivalent by APAC, with a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 or a CGPA of 3.1 within the last 10 years. Admission to this course is highly competitive and places are limited. Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee entry. The final ranked list of applicants will be determined based on academic merit, CV, referee reports, and performance at interviews.
