Overview of Doctor in Restorative Dentistry in MAHSA University Malaysia
The DrResDent is a three-year clinical doctorate programme designed to create new and effective integration of knowledge from the fields of prosthodontics, endodontics and periodontics, through extensive simulation exercises and clinical training. This will help candidates in providing holistic treatment to patients by using the comprehensive knowledge given to them under this programme.
The candidate will design an original research project by conducting an independent research, which will be reported formally in a thesis, or as a manuscript prepared for submission or as published paper(s).
The pre-requisite for this programme is a one-year Master of Orofacial Sciences (with compulsory elective in Restorative Dentistry) or its equivalent. The combination of one year Masters and three years Doctoral, is a specialist training programme, which will enable the graduates to be registered as specialists in Restorative Dentistry under the new Malaysian Dental Act 2018.
