Overview of Master of Agriculture
The Master of Agriculture program at Lincoln University College is a multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research-based degree designed to address contemporary challenges in agriculture and to develop highly skilled professional agriculturists. The curriculum is tailored for students undertaking an independent research project in a chosen specialization, while building strong competencies in research methodology, project management, and effective communication.
The program emphasizes extensive hands-on research experience, supported by courses in research methods and computer applications, ensuring graduates are well prepared for careers in both the public and private sectors. To successfully complete the Master’s degree at Lincoln University College, candidates are required to publish a minimum of two research articles in Scopus-indexed journals with affiliation to Lincoln University College.
Entry Requirements
Entry Requirements of Master of Agriculture
- A bachelor’s degree in the agriculture field or related disciplines with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or an equivalent qualification, as approved by the Lincoln University College Senate.
- A bachelor’s degree in the agriculture field or related disciplines or an equivalent qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 but below 2.75 may be accepted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment.
- A bachelor’s degree in the agriculture field or related disciplines or an equivalent qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 but below 2.50 may be accepted, provided the candidate has at least five years of relevant working experience and passes a rigorous internal assessment.
- Candidates without qualifications in related fields or without relevant working experience are required to complete appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the Lincoln University College Senate and must meet the minimum CGPA requirements outlined above.
