Course Overview

Overview This honours degree program at Curtin University, Malaysia, is designed to develop competent professionals in construction management and quantity surveying, addressing the evolving needs of the built environment sector. The curriculum is aligned with Industry 4.0 (IR4.0) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), integrating digitalisation and sustainability to ensure graduates remain industry-relevant and future-ready. A key feature of the 2023 course structure is the Quantity Surveying specialisation, which equips students with essential technical, financial, and contractual competencies required across construction and cost consultancy roles. The program also introduces a dedicated Building Information Modeling (BIM) career pathway, providing hands-on exposure to industry-standard BIM software and construction digital technologies. Students gain comprehensive knowledge in construction technology, cost planning, project and financial management, contract administration, construction law, and professional communication. Learning is reinforced through supervised site visits, international study opportunities, and 80 continuous working days (640 hours) of compulsory industry work experience prior to graduation, ensuring strong practical and professional readiness.
