Course Overview

Graduates will acquire a strong foundation of fundamental knowledge, scientific principles, and technical competencies in the field of computer science that align with both local and global industry requirements. They will be able to communicate ideas clearly and effectively, collaborate productively as team members, and demonstrate sound leadership qualities guided by the AIU 5A core values. Graduates will also develop the ability to solve computing problems creatively, innovatively, and ethically by applying appropriate numerical, analytical, and technical skills through sustainable and responsible approaches. In addition, they will cultivate social entrepreneurship skills that enable them to identify opportunities to address real-world challenges using digital technologies. Graduates will recognise the importance of lifelong learning and continuous professional development in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Through the effective use of digital solutions, they will be prepared to contribute positively to their communities and organisations, demonstrating responsibility, adaptability, and a commitment to using computing knowledge for the greater good.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must satisfy one of the following entry requirements. Candidates may be admitted with a pass in a Matriculation or Foundation programme, or an equivalent qualification, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00, and a Credit at SPM level or its equivalent in either Additional Mathematics, or Mathematics together with one Science, Technology, or Engineering (STEM) subject. STEM subjects include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science, and Pure Science. Alternatively, applicants may qualify with a pass in STPM (Science Stream) or an equivalent qualification with a minimum Grade C, achieving a CGPA of 2.00, or 3.0 (or 3.3 for applicants from Nigeria, Yemen, Sudan, or Afghanistan), in Mathematics and one Science or ICT subject. Diploma holders may be considered if they possess a Level 4 MQF Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or 2.8, or any Diploma in Science and Technology with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (or 3.3 for the specified countries). In addition, local students must achieve MUET Band 2.0, while international students must obtain MUET Band 3.0 or IELTS 5.0, or an equivalent qualification.
