Course Overview

The Bachelor in Multimedia Technology (Honours) at AIMST University Malaysia is built for students who want to create digital experiences that look sharp, feel smooth, and work properly across platforms. It’s a 3-year programme that blends creativity with technical depth, so you can move confidently from concept to production. Early modules develop your base through areas such as basic programming, augmented reality technology, human–computer interaction, media psychology, animation techniques, mobile multimedia, multimedia systems, databases, research methodology, user-centred design, and system analysis & design. As you advance, the programme becomes more specialised with subjects like graphic and computer animation, interactive media design, digital audio technology, web programming, multimedia networking, and visual effects techniques. In the final phase, you’ll work through final year projects and complete industrial training (24 weeks), giving you real portfolio-worthy output and workplace exposure. AIMST also lists career directions that match what students actually learn, including multimedia designer, digital content creator, web developer, game designer, animator, UX/UI designer, video producer, motion graphics artist, and VR/AR developer. Entry Requirements

Applicants must have passed STPM with at least Grade C (GP 2.00) in any two subjects, or STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid, or completed Matriculation/Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00. Candidates holding a Diploma (MQF Level 4) or Advanced Diploma (MQF Level 5) with at least CGPA 2.00, or a Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM), Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM), or Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) may be considered subject to HEP Senate/Academic Board approval and relevant screening. Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government are also acceptable. In addition, applicants must pass an interview or submit a portfolio as required by the HEP and achieve a minimum MUET Band 3 or an equivalent English qualification aligned with CEFR Low B2.
