This program is a FULL-TIME program with a combination of Course-Work and Research Activities for a total minimum duration of 3 Semesters. Total credit hours for this program is 43 credits – 50% on Course-Work (8 courses) and 50% on Research (Dissertation 1 and 2).
The main aim of this program is to develop knowledge, improve strategies and decision making in design, operation and performance of railway engineering. Entry Requirement of Master of Science in Railway engineering (Mixed-Mode) in UTHM Malaysia Malaysia
Admission requirements:
• Applicant must have a Bachelor Degree with Honours from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn
Malaysia (UTHM) or any other higher learning institution recognised by the Senate with
cumulative grade points average (CPA) of 2.75
• Application from applicant who possess a Bachelor Degree or equivalent not meeting
the minimum CPA can be accepted subjected to minimum years of working experience
in related field (ONE (1) year working experience equivalence to 0.1 CPA)
• Applicants with APEL-T7 qualification (Applicable for Malaysian Citizen Only) can be

• Applicants should fulfill the minimum English proficiency level of either:
− IELTS (academic overall band score); 5.0 /
− Overall TOEFL score (TOEFL paper based; 500 or TOEFL iBT; 60) /

throughout Malaysia that is recognized by the Senate are eligible to apply for
exemption from the English language requirements
• Applicants who do not fulfill the minimum English language requirement but graduated
from universities listed as the English Speaking Countries are eligible to apply for
exemption from the English language requirements.
