Overview of Bachelor Of Arts In English For Global Communication (With Honours) in University of Sarawak Sarawak UNIMAS Malaysia
English is a language used for global communication in the fields of international trade and business, research, technology, and industry. The ability to communicate effectively in English enables one to connect with and participate actively in the international community as a global citizen. This programme equips prospective students with the knowledge, competence, and awareness to use English as an important tool of communication in a globalised world.
The Bachelor of Arts in English for Global Communication (with Honours) is a four-year degree programme. The main medium of instruction for this programme is English. Prospective students will be provided with opportunities to apply the knowledge and their ability to use English effectively for various communication needs in local and global settings.
Entry Requirements
STPM CATEGORY (SCIENCE & LITERATURE FLOW)
Obtained at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) at STPM level in any two (2) subjects (excluding General Studies)
And
Obtained at least passed Grade B at SPM level in the following subjects:
English
And
Obtained at least Level 4 (Band 4) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
Obtained at least Grade C (2.00) in any two (2) subjects at the Matriculation / Foundation level.
AND
Obtained at least passed Grade B at SPM level in the following subjects:
English
And
Obtained at least Level 4 (Band 4) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
CATEGORY STEM
Obtained at least the Rank of Jayyid in the Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) Examination
And
Obtained at least passed Grade B at SPM level in the following subjects:
English
And
Obtained at least Level 4 (Band 4) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
DIPLOMA CATEGORY (SCIENCE / LITERATURE FLOW)
Possess a Diploma in a related field or other qualification recognized by the UNIMAS Senate by obtaining a CGPA of at least 2.00;
And
Include academic transcripts from the first semester to the final semester.
Or
Obtained at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) at STPM level in any two (2) subjects (excluding General Studies)
Or
Obtained at least Grade C (2.00) at the Matriculation / Foundation level in any two (2) subjects.
And
Obtained at least passed Grade B at SPM level in the following subjects:
English
And
Obtained at least Level 4 (Band 4) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
EQUAL CATEGORY (A LEVEL, INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE AND AUSMAT)
Have Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or credit in Malay / Bahasa Malaysia paper in July and passed in the subjects of history (SPM 2013 and above);
And
Have a GCEA Level qualification with at least a Grade C in any of the following 2 subjects:
Pass the International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum score of 26 and get at least a score of 4 in any two (2) subjects at the High Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL) level.
Or
Have an Australian Matriculation Program (AUSMAT) with at least Grade C for any 3 subjects
And
Obtained at least level 2 (Band 2) in MUET test / Band 5.5 in IELTS test / score 500 in TOEFL PBT test / score 59 in TOEFL IBT test.
