Overview of BACHELOR OF SPORTS SCIENCE (EXERCISE SCIENCE) in University of Malaya (UM) Malaysia
The Exercise Science program is a discipline in Sport Science knowledge. In general this program is divided into two key areas (Parks & Quarterman, 2002):
(i) A professional career where there are an abundance of career opportunities in Sports.
(ii) An an academic area which is specific to preparing intellectually in higher institutions at learning and college.
SUBJECTS
This is a full time program that requires students to register and pass all courses with the minimum of grade C for a total of 127 credits. The structure of the program is as follows:
- Study duration is as follows:
Minimum time = 7 semester
Maximum time = 11 semester
Learning methods are a combination of the following: face to face learning (i.e. lecture series), guided learning (i.e. tutorial, group discussion). Student-centric learning (i.e. assignments, written assignment, presentations) and industrial training (practical).

By learning various aspects of Exercise Science such as Anatomy and Physiology, Biomechanic, Sports Nutrition, Sports Psychology, Coaching, Measurement in Sports and Sports Science Research, graduates of University of Malaya will possess a well develop knowledge to more changes.
The Sports Centre, University of Malaya in everwilling and continuously enhancing the quality of the Exercise Science program so that the graduates in the future will be more professional in their approach.
