Entry Requirement of Master of Malay Literature in Universiti Putra Malaysia UPM Malaysia
For students from India
The applicant should possess a Bachelor’s degree (with honours) in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.000, or the applicant without sufficient academic qualification can be admitted into the programme subject to any other requirement specified by the Faculty/Institute.
An applicant from a local public university who is in the final semester of his undergraduate study programme may be considered for provisional admission provided his current CGPA or its equivalent satisfies the graduate programme admission requirements.
English Language Requirements: International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) Band 6.0; Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL), Paper Based - 550; 400 for Band 4.0 only for Malay language, Arabic, Chinese Literature, internet-based test (IBT)- 79-80.
For international students
Applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree with at least CGPA 2.75 in the field of Malay Language and Linguistics from a recognized university.
Applicant with a CGPA of less than 2.75 or equivalent may be considered if they have relevant work experience at least 1 year in related fields.
Applicant who does not possess any qualifications in the field of Malay Language and Linguistics but obtains a CGPA of 3.00 can be considered for provisional admission (please refer to programme requirements)
A minimum score of 550 in Paper-based Test TOEFL (Academic Version); or
A minimum score of 79-80 in Internet-based Test TOEFL (Academic Version); or
A minimum overall band score of 6.0 in IELTS (Academic Training); or
A minimal Level 109 in all components in CIEP from ELS Language Center.
